I know most, if not all, of you have heard the statement, "Leaders are readers." If you are anything like me, you probably felt that you are not a leader so why read. In the book Aspire, the author talks of a study they did at the company he worked. They found that the top performers were avid learners. They continually take in new information and use it. In fact, the top performers at his company each read over two dozen books a year. They read from various topics, especially ones that would help them in understanding their clients. None of them felt they knew it all. In fact, they appeared very humble because of their willingness to continue to learn.
Even if you do not work a typical job you can benefit from learning. Earning can represent other things that just money. You could earn better relationships, better marriages, better behavior from children, better students. The list could go on and on. I want to encourage you to become a full time learner. It only takes 15 minutes of reading a day to read a book per month. Forty pages a day to read a 280 page book in a week. God bless!
