I Need Respect, She Needs Love!

I am reading a great book right now called, "Love and Respect" by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. It has really opened my eyes to how men and women not only think differently, but also seek different needs. Men are in need of being respected by their wives. Women are in need of being loved by their husbands. This does not mean that men don't need love and women shouldn't be respected. What it means is that men thrive off of being shown respect, especially by their wives. It also means that women thrive off feeling loved, especially by their husbands. Both of these need to be unconditional acts. As hard as it is to grasp the idea that we should love and respect unconditionally, by doing so it will change the entire dynamics of a relationship. All of this relates back to Ephesians 5:33. It says, "However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband." (ESV) Those are powerful words. Especially since they are laid out by God, the creator of man and women. Ladies, take time today to show your husband respect. Men, take time to today to show your wife love. God bless!
